Epic Bike Ride Day 33 June 30th

Thoughts from Kelly: We drove back to Pinedale, got more mosquito coils and ice and Mark started his ride.  We were soon back in the mountains on a very rocky road.  The scenery was beautiful but I could hardly enjoy it because the road was so bad.  We met a few more riders along the way and ended the day at a nice spot near a cow fence.

Thoughts from Mark:  It was good to get back on the bike, and I felt decently strong today.  The ride was fairly flat, and the mountains surrounding Pinedale are very nice.  Out on the ride, I saw either a coyote or a very big fox.  I just had a quick glance at him/her, and didn’t really get a decent look, but it was definitely a dog-like animal, and it was in the middle of nowhere.  Who knows, maybe it was even a wolf (doubtful).  We found a nice dispersed camping spot, and after having dinner, and getting ready for bed, we heard a “Hello?” It turned out to be Marty, a southbound rider from Kansas, who asked if he could camp near us.  We gave him some fruit and water, and he was gone before we even woke up the next morning.

Miles for the day:  53.16        Feet climbed today:  2,950

Total miles ridden:  1,521.88    Total feet climbed:  98,358
