Epic Bike Ride Rest Day June 29th

Thoughts from Kelly: Happy Birthday to our nephew Derek! Well, with Mark’s back pain and me having tummy problems (celiac inflammation), we decided to take a rest day and enjoy Pinedale some more.  We drove and walked around for a bit, and ended up at a cool bike shop and talked with them for awhile. We then hung out at the library, so we could upload all these journal entries.  When they closed, we got some pizza for Mark and headed out of town to find some quiet BLM land to camp.  We ended up at a campground at Half Moon Lake.  It was beautiful,  but the mosquitos were unbearable.  Luckily, we have 4 different mosquito deterrents, so after awhile we had some relief.  We walked down to the lake and met a nice couple from Spokane, but the mosquito’s ruined our fun and we headed back to camp for the night.

Thoughts from Mark:  It was nice to take a day off, and we both really enjoyed Pinedale.  It was a small town, but seemed to have everything we needed, and the vibe was really nice.  The bike shop was perfectly located, but a lot of riders had been coming in, so they were a bit low on their stock of supplies.  Luckily, I didn’t really need anything, so we ended up just talking to them about the ride, and life in Pinedale.  The camping spot for the night was so full of angry mosquitoes that I had a hard time enjoying it.  Hopefully the mosquito situation will settle down.
